Our name is The Lean Hydrogen Company, but sometimes we simply use Lean Hydrogen. The name is inspired by the Lean Startup methodology, developed by Ries, E. (2011). The Lean Startup, New York, USA: Crown Business.
This method teaches us how to create an entrepreneurial company and make it sustainable by avoiding waste or unnecessary expenses. It tells us when it’s time to learn and when it’s time to grow (and call potential investors). It explains what an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is and what it’s for. It shows us the pivot as an essential tool for a startup. In short, it’s a guide to starting your own business.
The author of this method, in turn, was inspired by an industrial method, Lean Manufacturing, a manufacturing philosophy that analyzes the production process and seeks to make it more efficient, hence the word “lean.” This word has many meanings; we like “efficient” and “streamlined”. If we go back to this two, we find the reason for the name. At Lean Hydrogen, we don’t manufacture equipment, we design projects tailored to the client’s needs, which allows us to provide the best hydrogen, the most efficient, the one that fits their requirements. The good thing about working with us is that when we develop an idea, we won’t force our technology (because we don’t have any). We will propose what best suits the context. That’s why we work with many manufacturers, to have a wide range of options.
Finally, regarding the company logo. The logo is both an “n” and an “h” at the same time. The funny thing is that we created the “h” by adding a vector to the “n.” All of this is wrapped in the silhouette of the electron of the hydrogen atom and its “orbit.” Yes, we know, it all sounds very geeky.
