European Clean Hydrogen Alliance

In this new blog entry, we want to announce that on October 23rd, Lean Hydrogen became a part of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance (https://www.ech2a.eu/). The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance was launched on July 8, 2020, as part of the EU’s hydrogen strategy for a zero-emission Europe.

The main objective of this alliance is to achieve the deployment of hydrogen technologies by 2030. The EU aims to consolidate its global leadership in this field while supporting its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Large-scale industrial deployment requires systemic action across the entire value chain, from hydrogen production and transportation to its industrial use as a raw material for energy-intensive industries or as fuel for transportation, or balancing renewable electricity production. This is where the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance can quickly support the scale-up of clean hydrogen production and use in Europe.

By bringing together industry, authorities, and civil society, the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance will play a crucial role in facilitating the implementation of the vision of the European Hydrogen Strategy. The alliance will maximize impact by engaging all stakeholders in the hydrogen value chain and mobilizing resources to develop an investment agenda to stimulate the deployment of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production and use, and to build a concrete project portfolio. This will create the foundation for a sustainable and competitive industrial hydrogen ecosystem in the EU.
