Within the framework of the programme for the promotion of entrepreneurial culture in the Andalusian educational system, students from IES El Getares de Algeciras of the Higher Vocational Training Cycle in Environmental Education and Control and from IES Mediterráneo of the speciality of Industrial Chemical Plant Operator, have made a training visit to the facilities of Astrolabio Solar, S. L. (a company owned by GOAGENER and GRUPO GUADACORTE) H2 Guadacorte, owner of the first Hydropower production plant in Spain. L. (a company owned by GOAGENER and GRUPO GUADACORTE) H2 Guadacorte, owner of the first Green Hydrogen production plant in Andalusia, located in the municipality of Los Barrios.
The activity, organised in collaboration with the aforementioned Institutes, has allowed the students to learn first-hand about an innovative business environment focused on renewable energies and sustainable development, with a special focus on green hydrogen research. During the day, the students participated in a technical talk, took a guided tour of the facilities and were able to interact with professionals in the sector, accompanied by the professional hosted at the CADE of the LINEA, in the sector of industrial engineering Nazario Bermejo and agricultural engineer Javier Gomez Barquero.
The tour of the production plant has been carried out by the CTO LEAN HYDROGEN Eugenio Trillo León as an expert in Hydrogen Technology.
This visit is part of the Andalusian education system’s efforts to bring students closer to the reality of entrepreneurship and to awaken scientific and entrepreneurial vocations from an early age, as well as to improve their employability. Initiatives such as this reinforce the commitment of educational centres to comprehensive training adapted to current challenges.
Both the teachers and those responsible for H2 Guadacorte have highlighted the interest shown by the students and the value of this type of experience for their personal and professional development.
The day went smoothly and in strict compliance with the safety regulations established by the host company.
